NEWS JUNE 2015

A SILVER PODIUM AT THE WORLDCUP !

image-SailingEnergy

Dear friends and partners,
By climbing on the second step of the podium at the World Cup in Weymouth GBR we have consolidated a crucial milestone just one year before the 2016 Olympics.

Against our future Olympic opponents, it was also important for us to validate many strategic choices like training, equipment, settings and physical mati-sebbe-natcSSTpreparation. There is now two short months before the Olympic Test Event in Rio.

Next event from the 6th of July is the World Championships in Denmark. This will be the first opportunity to meet the Swiss Olympic quota of our personal athlete qualification. Thank you all for your support and messages. Enjoy reading!

Nathalie Brugger : «It has brought a lot of emotions for me to be back on the London 2012 Olympic waters. We had superb sailing conditions with short and choppy waves with a strong wind between 4 and 6 Bft. During the 11 races we were continuously battling, technically and physically, for every meter and every place ... which finally paid off! Yes, We definitively showed that our perseverance can matter a lot at the Medal Race: we kept our silver medal by less than 1 meter, ... just a single point over rank 3!»WeymouthcJesusReneDO-615P

Matìas Bühler : «Since our podium at the World 2013, the level of our competitors in the top 10 of the Nacra class has increased incredibly. We have heavily invested and this silver medal is a great reward for these efforts. A moment of fear? Yes, when I got ejected from our boat into the water amongst the other Nacra's approaching at full speed ! Luckily I had Nathalie to perform a top M.O.B (Man OverBoard) maneuvre to come to rescue me !»

Sebbe Godefroid : «I am proud of this medal which shows us to be on the right track. I am also very impressed with the professional behavior, performance and organisation of Mati and Nat. This week has been really important to validate our choice of equipment and settings. In addition, it is also great for the sefl-confidence !»
