Miami World Cup

We started the World Cup with a bullet in race 1 ... but ended the day with torn ligaments for Nat.

After a few days off between Christmas and New Year, we started our training early January in Miami. We participated at the Mid-winter regatta as a warm-up for the World Cup. It was a very positive event for the team with consistent performances at the front of the fleet, leaving us ready for the big event with a few extra training days in between.

Miami OCR marks the first World Cup of the season, and on Day 1  the wind forcast was really strong with 25-30knots of very gusty wind. We started the competition with a first place in the first race! A great way to begin the 2015 World Cup, and it was a great sail at the front of the fleet. For the second race, we rounded the top mark in 3rd position, however during the downwind, a very strong and powerfull gust hit the boat and we nose dived badly. Unfortunately Nat's foot got stuck in the footstrap and as a result hurt her knee quite severe. The inside ligaments are now torn and Nat will not be able to sail for 4-8 weeks. Lucky for us we have found a good replacement crew for Mati so he can keep sailing and train as much as he can.

We stay positive and a happy team. Everything happens for a good reason ... so we will see what the future brings us :)
