Nacra17 World Championship

A solid start  ... but just missed the Medal Race

Day 3, 4 & 5

The windy West front allowed us to sail only 3 races in the Finals. With a 3/23/18 we end up 11th, equal points as the 10th and only 10 points from 5th!

We hoped  to be able to compete on Day 4 in order to climb with the top 10 Medal race participants, but this was impossible with gusts  up to 38 knts. We finished 11th, missing our objectives.

It is never easy to write something in those moments ... However, the sign of a good team is how they can bounce back after disappointment- and the bad luck from this event with a minimal number of  races.

We showed our potential and we are confident that ‪ou team will be back at the Rio Olympic test event mid August, even stronger than before.

Thanks all for your support.

Day 2:
After a long posponement on shore due to too much wind (26-39knots), both fleet sailed 2 races in a strong 22 knots of breeze. We sailed two solid races with a 2nd and a 3rd to be ranked 4th today before the last day of qualification. 3 more races are scheduled from 2pm on.

Day 1
No wind, no race on day 1

With 66 Nacra17 from 31 countries, this World championship will give 3 nation spots for the Games 2016. After the 10 countries already qualified after 2014 Worlds in Santander, 3 nations will have the chance to qualify their own country for the Rio Olympics.
With a light first day of racing forcasted, the wind should blow pretty nicely during the whole week in Aarhus... Bring it on !!!
